Animal is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language action drama film[5] directed and edited by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Pranay Reddy Vanga and Saurabh Gupta. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Pranay Reddy Vanga under T-Series Films, Bhadrakali Pictures and Cine1 Studios. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna and Tripti Dimri. In the film, Ranvijay "Vijay" Singh learns about an assassination attempt on his father and sets out to exact revenge.

The film was officially announced in January 2021, along with the title of the film. Principal photography commenced in April 2022 and wrapped by April 2023. The film has music composed by JAM8, Vishal Mishra, Jaani, Manan Bhardwaj, Shreyas Puranik, Ashim Kemson and Harshwardhan Rameshwar, cinematography handled by Amit Roy and editing by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. With a runtime of 201 minutes (3 hours 21 minutes), the film was one of the longest Indian films made.[6][7]

Animal was theatrically released on 1 December 2023 in standard and IMAX formats and received mixed reviews from critics.[8] Earning around ₹600.67 crore (US$75 million), Animal has emerged as sixth highest-grossing Indian film of 2023, fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of 2023, 15th highest-grossing Indian film and highest-grossing A (adults only) rated Indian film of all time.[9]

 Already topping the box office in India, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s bombastic action film is high on shock tactics and low on substance. His first two features, the Telugu-language Arjun Reddy (2017) and its Hindi remake Kabir Singh (2019) were both megahits – and also attracted criticism for making heroes out of misogynistic, violent men. Far from stepping back from this, Animal sinks even further into regressive depths, resulting in one of the vilest protagonists to have graced the big screen.

Vijay, played by Hindi cinema royalty Ranbir Kapoor, is the only son of a wealthy family. He grows up in the shadow of his father Balbir Singh (Anil Kapoor), whose attention is wrapped up in his steel company. Zigzagging between different timelines spanning Vijay’s childhood to his autumnal years, Animal charts how his cravings for love and validation leads to a cycle of bloodshed with his inner turmoil basically a pretext for an onslaught of increasingly gory shootout sequences. At one point, Vijay quite literally murders hundreds of ruffians, all in the name of protecting his father. The swaggering, gratuitous violence aims to disturb, yet the execution of the action scenes is entirely forgettable and derivative, a poor man’s version of The Godfather or Scarface.

विजय, जिसका किरदार हिंदी सिनेमा के राजपरिवार के रणबीर कपूर ने निभाया है, एक अमीर परिवार का इकलौता बेटा है। वह अपने पिता बलबीर सिंह (अनिल कपूर) की छाया में बड़ा होता है, जिसका सारा ध्यान उसकी स्टील कंपनी पर केंद्रित है। विजय के बचपन से लेकर उसके पतझड़ के वर्षों तक फैली विभिन्न समयसीमाओं के बीच ज़िगज़ैगिंग करते हुए, एनिमल चार्ट करता है कि कैसे प्यार और मान्यता के लिए उसकी लालसा उसके आंतरिक उथल-पुथल के साथ रक्तपात के चक्र की ओर ले जाती है जो मूल रूप से तेजी से खूनी गोलीबारी दृश्यों के हमले का बहाना है। एक बिंदु पर, विजय सचमुच अपने पिता की रक्षा के नाम पर सैकड़ों बदमाशों की हत्या कर देता है। उग्र, अनावश्यक हिंसा का उद्देश्य परेशान करना है, फिर भी एक्शन दृश्यों का निष्पादन पूरी तरह से भूलने योग्य और द गॉडफादर या स्कारफेस के एक गरीब आदमी के संस्करण से व्युत्पन्न है।
